Why the Fix?

Sandia management is broken.

Sandia is run by Lockheed Martin, rated as the most corrupt defense contractor in the US.  It is run for profit — estimated at $2.9 billion per year.

Management at Sandia appears corrupt, paranoid, incompetent, and vindictive.  It routinely breaks the law, often with impunity.

This web site is about the problems at Sandia and how they can be fixed.

Please help.  Let us know of other problems, of other possible fixes.  Take some of the actions suggested.

Sandia is a national asset and is vital to our national defense. The fine people who work at Sandia, friends and families, and the Americans who support Sandia with tax dollars, deserve much better than what Lockheed Martin, Sandia Corp., and Sandia management are giving us.

  1. Sandia’s dysfunction is a blend of deep seated corporate corruption brought to us by our sleezy LM overlords, and the completely compliant approach to our DOE governance. The result is the encroachment of an ever more pervasive and squalid mediocrity. Following DOE’s lead can provide nothing but a path to decline and serves no one but the status quo. The “exceptional service in the National Interest” has been functionally replaced by “Resistance is Futile”

  2. The major problem is a toxic corporate culture. Lockheed Martin, which is itself toxic, probably can never fix it. Another lab manager perhaps could.

    1. Nobody else wants to bid. The DOE and SNL are much, much more proud of their accomplishments and record than the rest of the country and world. Its too late now. The lab has been so entirely infested with 3rd rate graduates, begetting more 4th rate graduates. Management has openly said to me that they prefer to hire the 3rd rate people because they won’t have the career options to leave. NNSA labs have officially become the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
