Sandia Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, and all top management positions at Sandia Labs are filled by Lockheed employees, not Sandia Corp. employees. This arrangement creates a huge conflict of interest – Sandia seems often to be less a national lab and more of a stooge for Lockheed.
Lockheed Martin is constantly at the top of the list of most corrupt defense contractors in the country. (http://www.contractormisconduct.org/). Sandia National Laboratories deserve a management that is not part of this corruption. And it deserves a corporate culture that is focused on its work and treating its employees fairly, not on being a cash cow for Lockheed Martin.
